Men’s and Women’s Scottish Opens - July 2017
Located near the town of Irvine, Dundonald Links is undergoing major renovation works ahead of the two events in July 2017. After hosting the 2015 Ladies Scottish Open, the club’s owner’s devised plans for a complete restructure which included the construction of a new clubhouse which is due for completion at the end of 2016. Several of the greens will be increased in size and three of the putting areas have been levelled out, providing the organisers with more options when setting up for the tournament.
Dundonald Links is known to be a testing golf course, it’s the first time ever both the men’s and women’s Scottish Opens have taken place on the same golf course.
Mercure Ayr is a 20 minute drive (12.7 miles) from Dundonald Links, however please allow for plenty of time during key event dates.
Links Golf Cup - September 2017
Following the success of the East Lothian competition, the Links Golf Cup Ayrshire was launched in 2015. This stretch of coastline really is a must visit for any golfer. Here are the host venues for 2017.
Western Gailes tests all golf enthusiasts to the limit and will be a brilliant start to the week. The course follows the natural curves of the land and presents an interesting and exciting challenge. The clubhouse offers breathtaking views across the Firth of Clyde to the Isle of Arran and beyond.
The course is a world class links that attracts avid golfers from far and wide, it has also been chosen by the R&A as a qualifying course for The Open Championship.
Barassie Links have played host to a number of PGA events over the years, including Open Final Qualifying and the Boys Amateur Championship. Who will climb up the leader board ahead of the final round?
Dundonald Links have already hosted many prominent events in the golf calendar including the 2016 Ladies Scottish Open, it’s not surprising the venue has been chosen to host the final round of the Links Golf Cup. The top 30 competitors will tee off in leaderboard order with the leaders out on the course last – ensuring the excitement lasts throughout the day.
All of the courses are within a 30 minute drive from the hotel but please allow plenty of time during the event.
