Visit Robert Burns Birthplace Museum

Robert Burns Birthplace Museum offers a truly unique encounter with Scotland’s favourite son. Robert Burns is Scotland’s National Bard, and his poetry and songs are known and loved the world over. But who was he and what made him tick?

The best place to get close to Burns and his genius is his birthplace in the beautiful village of Alloway. Our flagship museum starts a journey that weaves through the village, taking you from historical buildings to landmarks known to Burns.

Take a Beach Walk

One of the best beaches in Scotland, Ayr Beach has been awarded a Seaside Award from Keep Scotland Beautiful.

Predominantly sand, Ayr Beach is a great location for picnics and sandcastle building, with a good expanse of grass for children to play on. Admire beautiful views of Ailsa Craig, the Isle of Arran and on a clear day – Pladda.

A great range of fun facilities are located adjacent to Ayr Beach, including a putting green, crazy golf and children’s play area. Also located on the seafront is Pirate Pete’s Family Entertainment Centre, where children can enjoy the indoor soft play, mini golf and laser games. There is also a café to relax in, perfect for catching a bite to eat or a cup of coffee.
